In
1995
The
Dean
and
Margaret
Lesher
Foundation
donated
24
bronze
sculptures
to the
Contra
Costa
County
Library
System
. The
Foundation
was
bequeathed
an
extensive
artwork
collection
from the
late
Dean
Lesher
.
Mr
.
Lesher
was an
avid
collector
of
western
art
and a
prominent
figure
in the
county
until
his
death
in
1993
. The
bronze
sculptures
are
magnificent
renderings
of the
Old
West
,
American
Patriotism
and
many
honor
our
Native
American
roots
as
well
. The
sculptures
were
distributed
to the
various
branch
libraries
in the
Contra
Costa
Library
system
,
where
they
remain
on
permanent
display
. This
sculpture
is
on
display
at the
San
Pablo
Library
.
