Santa Clara, Cal,
March 24, 1883.
Mr. Thomas A. Brown, Esq.
I intended to come and see you Monday, which I telegraphed to you, but I can not buy your place, unless you seel it to me for 47 1/2 dollars per acre.
The fact is that there will not be a ton of hay on your whole place this year. If I had the money to pay for your place it would not matter so much.
And if you sell it to me I intend to build a house and move on to it, and while no crops I would have to buy everything for a year
