Description	First and second place winners of the annual soapbox derby, staged along Valley View Road from Marie Murphy School, October 19, 1957. The winner, Mike Thomas, is at the left, accompanied by Kathy Gannon. The second place contestant is Kenyon Chan, accompanied by Carol Ann Flanagan. Kenyon’s parents, Gene and Martha Chan, opened and ran the Manor Market from 1952 to 1988.
